As a hitter one way to gain a huge advantage is to pick up on a pitchers tendencies. If you are able to pick them up you will be able to look for certain pitches at certain times and be almost 100% sure you are going to get it. An example of this would be recognizing that every time a certain pitcher threw a first pitch curve ball for a strike he would follow it up with a fast ball. If you were able to pick up on this, you would still go looking for a first pitch fastball, if you get it great, jump on it. If you happen to get a first pitch curve ball and it is a strike you are now ready for the fastball you know he is going to throw. Little things like this will help you gain an advantage and that is something all players want. Don’t waste your time in the dugout goofing off use it wisely by studying the other team. You can play after the game is over.
