How To Store Your Glove

If you dig through a kids baseball bag you will see most kids just toss their glove in the bag and put all the other equipment on it.  Please do not do this.  Storing your glove like this will actually cause it to break down and become flimsy.  This mean the top of the glove will bend excessively.  I have actually witnessed line drives bend a certain brand of glove back and the ball has popped out.  This happened on a regular basis to a buddy of mine who used a glove that was soft and flimsy when he bought it.  So what should you do?  When storing your glove make sure it is on top of your bag and in the position where the palm is facing down and it is resting on the thumb and pinky slots.  You want to do this to maintain the integrity of the pocket and make sure your glove stays firm.  Also, if you can avoid putting your glove in your bag all together that would be best, but if you have to store it this way.  Also, when you come in from the field do not just throw it in the dugout, set it down the way I explained you should store it in your bag.  As I said doing this will keep the glove more firm and in turn it will last longer and it will hold it’s shape as well.  Take care of your glove it should be your best friend.
